Collecting Subbuteo>

Last updated: 21.09.06

Welcome!
When I was a young lad, I spent hours playing Subbuteo football. I had even made myself a stadium out of Lego and the only thing that was missing were the floodlights and the roar of the crowd. In february 2002, I was surfing the internet and I wondered to myself what ever happened to Subbuteo, so I typed in to a search engine and came up with a list. The first I looked at was Subbuteo World. I was horrified to see "Zombies" and "Lightweights" and could not believe what had happened to the game. I also looked at the prices that were being asked for some teams and thought back to the days when for around 50p I could get a team and now they were around £15.00 pounds and up. If only as a child I had had the foresight to get my parents to buy me more and also to have kept them safely in the attic.

I then mulled the idea over and decided that I would start collecting and I had read up that eBay was the place to look. My first few teams came from Subbuteo World and I was of course excited when I received them. I then registerd with eBay and went about collecting. At first I wasn't sure how to go about bidding etc and some of the images weren't too good, so of course I ended up with some "dodgy" teams but I also obtained a few bargains.

My Collection
The images on this site are all photographs I have taken from my personal collection. I must apologise for the quality of some, this will of course be rectified. I have listed the teams in number order and at a later date will do the same with accessories. Just updated today. I have now completed my collection page from 1-50. I do infact have all to ref 60 but a few references missing still in order to complete the 1-190, which of course is my goal. So anyone out there who wishes to sell or swap to fill in the gaps for me..please contact me.

Swaps and sale*UPDATED*
Here you will find teams that I have spare for swap or for sale and also my wish list. At the moment I have several teams for sale or swap. I also have some spares that are not listed s please contact me for more details. Also all sale prices are reduced at the moment.

Stadium
I always wanted a stadium to play in and although I had constructed one out of Lego and had a crowd of Airfix civilians, it wasn't quite as authentic as the shop bought version and of course it was too expensive for me at the time. So my plan now is to construct both the old style and newer style stadium. My priority is collecting teams but every now and then when there is nothing too exciting on eBay I will pick up a terrace or grandstand. So far I have almost half a stadium. Photo's will follow when ready.

Favourites
Here I will showcase some of my favourite Subbuteo items with a short history about why they are my favourites. I will also showcase here some of the not so favourites. These are players that I picked up on ebay where the seller was not so honest about what he was selling and it is time to blow the whistle on these not so honest ebayers, so I will also divulge names and ebay names, so maybe they won't rip people off again?

Links
I will have links here to other Subbuteo sites of interest.

Thanks
Many thanks to those who have helped me with my collection. Pete Whitehead, Mike of "Little Plastic Men" fame, Chris of Subbuteo365 and his catalogue pages for information on reference number and colour variations and especially Carlo in Milan who has been a diamond with information and tips especially with Ebay auctions.

New to come!!
My Zeugo collection will be appearing here soon, I just have to get some pictures done.
